NARROWED FOCUS!

February 1, 2024 by Carl Hanson

How many times when trying to find out the facts about something, have we, in our searching, experienced an information overload? Such can create a challenge to sort through it all to truly understand. However, sometimes significant truths have been related in only a few words; concisely conveyed for clearer consideration.

Jesus, the Master Teacher, often presented profound truths in just a few words. Among such teaching of eternal consequence Jesus stated. . .

“(13) Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. (14) For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” (Matthew 7:13-14 ESV)

In just a few words, Jesus concisely conveyed the contrast of choosers, choices, and consequences; between the many or few, the narrow or wide, and destruction or life. He didn’t note many ways, but only two. He also revealed that following the majority or taking the easy way is not the wise way. According to Jesus it comes down to two contrasting ways with dynamically differing destinies.

Remember the Lord’s straightforward statement in response to Philip where we read. . .

“(6)Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV)

And when Peter and John were questioned by the Jewish leaders after the healing of the lame beggar, Peter concisely conveyed. . .

“(11) This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. (12) And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:11-12 ESV)

Yes, it is a very narrow view! However, it is where we need to narrow our focus lest we be led astray by the ways and the words of the masses around us. To accept Jesus is to accept what He has declared and be willing to live by it! May we follow Him knowing the eternity to which He leads!

Have a great day WITH THE FOCUS FIXED ON THE FOUNDER OF OUR FAITH!

Our Mission

Truth For Teens was originally a publication with a circulation of over 500 to youth throughout the United States.  This was possible because a group of men and women felt a need to provide healthy, helpful information to our youth as they deal with daily situations.

That need has not changed. The Central church of Christ at Pflugerville, Texas has decided to oversee this continuing, important ministry with this website and publication of a regular newsletter available to all teens around the world. We want the truth of God to be available as the “truth for teens” as well!
