Left to ourselves and our own understanding of things does not always fare well. (note Jeremiah 10:23-24) Though acknowledging some are more qualified than others in what they can offer, there are times when it is wise to be open to the advice and counsel others can provide. (i.e. Proverbs 12:15; 19:20) There are even ways in which we can each mutually aid each other in the sharing of life’s insights drawn from our own experience and learning. Though we may not accept or delight in all the advice others might offer, to at least consider it can help us choose a good action to implement or direction to go. However, when it comes to the counsel or guidance of God, we can’t go wrong in accepting the wisdom of His direction.
As the writer of psalm 119 stated. . .
“(24) Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.” (Psalm 119:24 ESV)
Who best to provide counsel than the Creator of all life; the One Who knows us even better than we know ourselves. Therefore — whether command, correction, promise, or reproof (note 2 Timothy 3:16-17) — may we truly continue finding delight in all we need to hear from the counsel God’s Word provides, trusting His ability to guide us from where we are to where He desires us to be!
Have a great day DELIGHTING IN THE WISE COUNSEL OF GOD!
