Yes, I know today is marked on the calendar as New Year’s Eve. Yes, I know it is December 31st; being the last day of the month and the last day of the year. However, it is not the end! Today does not have the final say on what is ahead. Despite the changing of the calendar from one year to the next, time has not come to a screeching halt. There remains an eternity of hope held out to us by God, marked by the declaration of His Word that even death is not the end to our existence. (i.e. 1 Corinthians 15:50-57; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) As we move forward day-by-day for however many days God provides for our existence in this realm, each day is a new beginning and brings us that much closer to the full fruition of what God has planned for us. (i.e. 1 John 3:2) Are we ready to eagerly step forward in faith in the One Who is, was, and ever will be?
Paul encouraged those at Rome. . .
“(11) Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. (12) The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:11-12 ESV)
There are things we may not know about the times or God’s timing, but we can press on with a hope placed securely in what He has assured us will come. Like Abraham (Romans 4:20-21), let us unwaveringly trust in God’s ability to provided what He has promised. Because our Lord always lives to make intercession for us, we can trust in the fulness of the salvation He came to provide. (Hebrews 7:25) God will be faithful! Let us remain faithful to Him as we trust in His ability to bring us through whatever lies ahead as we are brought closer to the eternity reserved above!
Despite what was going on during the days of the prophet Jeremiah, he could state. . .
“(22) The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; (23) they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (24) “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”” (Lamentations 3:22-24 ESV)
Let us continue our journey forward, trusting God for the glorious provision of His steadfast love and mercies with each new day into which He brings us. As we press on, may we be encouraged that every step we take brings us nearer and nearer to the fullness of our salvation in Christ!
Have a great day HAVING NO END TO OUR TRUST IN THE ONE WHO HAS NO END!
