NOTICE?

July 15, 2024 by Carl Hanson

“Nobody notices what I do until I don’t do it.” [source: bulletin clipping]

Have you ever felt that way? Or have you ever felt your work was unappreciated, so you decided to not do it in order for others to realize what you had been taking care of all along? Having our efforts and contributions to life acknowledged is a great source of encouragement. However, it is still true we must be mindful of why we are doing what we are doing.

The writer of Hebrews encouraged. . .

“(10) For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. (11) And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, (12) so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:10-12 ESV)

God is well aware of every task, every kindness, and every act of service rendered. If we do what we do because it is right, because it is our responsibility, and because we desire to be characterized by Christ-like service, we will continue to make a difference in the lives of others, bring glory to God as His children, and ultimately have a reward from the One Who sees all and knows what motivated our completion of each task.

Even the recognition we do get in this realm (the trophies, the plaques, the certificates, slaps on the back, etc.) will collect dust, fade, or soon be forgotten. However, our God will not forget or overlook the works we have done to His glory regardless of how big or small they might be.

Have a great day ENCOURAGED THAT GOD ALWAYS NOTICES!

Our Mission

Truth For Teens was originally a publication with a circulation of over 500 to youth throughout the United States.  This was possible because a group of men and women felt a need to provide healthy, helpful information to our youth as they deal with daily situations.

That need has not changed. The Central church of Christ at Pflugerville, Texas has decided to oversee this continuing, important ministry with this website and publication of a regular newsletter available to all teens around the world. We want the truth of God to be available as the “truth for teens” as well!
