They are on television. We hear them on the radio. We see them in magazines and newspapers. They are posted in store windows. Offers you can’t refuse! — Or can we? Perhaps sometimes we should!
When we consider what God offers, does it seem too good to be true? Are we eager to accept what He has set before us?
The writer of Hebrews stated. . .
“(17) So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, (18) so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.” (Hebrews 6:17-18 ESV)
God has set before us an offer of hope. Without hope we are left with despair. But our hope in Christ is not just for this life. (note 1 Corinthians 15:19) Our hope in Christ is for eternity! It is an offer of hope against the odds. It is an offer of hope for the seemingly hopeless. Whatever God offers is not merely a bunch of hype, but He is fully able to provide it! His offer of hope we truly ought not to refuse! His offer is too good to refuse!
Have a great day ACCEPTING ALL GOD OFFERS!
Carl
