THE “PIN”
The focus on the “pin” as we wrestle in prayer could be stated like this: “Lord, I know that the victory is mine because you are with me. I struggle when I feel I can do it on my own. Help me keep in mind how much I need You, Your power, and Your coaching in order to gain the victory.”
Some talk about fighting to the death, but we press on as Christ will ultimately destroy that last enemy.
“(26) The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” (1 Corinthians 15:26 ESV)
And so we look to Christ who brings about the victory.
“(54) When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” (55) “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (56) The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. (57) But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (I Corinthians 15:54-57 ESV)
And by faith we are numbered among those who overcome!
“(3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. (4) For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. (5) Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (I John 5:3-5 ESV)
Press on to pin! Press on to win! As we wrestle on in faith, may we pin the fear that keeps us from boldly proclaiming the truth. May we pin the old self with its practices that the new self in Christ may continue to live and glorify Him. May we pin the selfish interests so that it is God’s Will that is being done in our daily life.
Have a great day WRESTLING VICTORIOUSLY IN CHRIST!
Carl
