And finally, again: “When we reject God’s commands, what we are actually declaring is we think we have a better idea than God!”
Going the wrong way on a “One Way” street can get us killed! Yet we live in a world that often proclaims there are no absolutes. Many claim what is right for one is not necessarily right for another. There is also the claim we cannot impose our morals (values) on another. We may even be accused of being narrow-minded as we take a stand for the truth. However, is there anything definitive? Is there a way above all other ways?
Remember what Jesus emphatically and unapologetically declared where we read. . .
“(6) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 ESV)
If it is “no one”, who is exempt? If it is “except through me”, what other way is there? Is that narrow? Is it the truth? To be absolutely true, anything contrary to it would be absolutely false!
I have a quote posted in my office which reads: “There is a difference between an open mind and a hole in the head.” Openness means being honest about the truth, not being open to the acceptance of any and every idea regardless of how many other people might be accepting it.
Jesus is the way! He is the way of truth! He is the way of life! He is the way to the Father! Jesus is it! (note also Acts 4:12) There is no reason to get lost! Let’s accept and follow Him!
Have a great day KNOWING THE WAY!
Carl
