Besides what we might offer directly to God, there are also offerings of which He is very pleased which relate indirectly to Him. Note two passages which reveal how our offering to others also relates to the Lord.
In Hebrews we read. . .
“(16) Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” (Hebrews 13:16 ESV)
And Jesus noted. . .
“(37) Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? (38) And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? (39) And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ (40) And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’” (Matthew 25:37-40 ESV)
Doing good and sharing with others is a sacrifice (or offering) in the eyes of God. Also, the manner in which we relate to others is a reflection of the service we are to extend to the Lord. As we serve others it is to be focused on as being offered to the Lord Himself. What a perspective on the significance of our interaction with others! May this realization keep our actions in the sphere pleasing to God!
Have a great day SERVING AS UNTO THE LORD!
