When someone shows up to help another, it is not uncommon to hear their initial response, “Thank God, you’re here.” Even when someone has been assisted financially, it is not uncommon to hear someone express, “I thank God for your generosity.” or “God bless you for your willingness to assist.” In the actions of meeting other’s needs, it is proper for attention to be turned to God. As we help others, God may be thanked for our part as we also duly thank God for having given us the means to do so.
As Christians at Corinth were encouraged to follow through in providing support for needy Christians in Judea, Paul noted. . .
“(12) For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.” (2 Corinthians 9:12 ESV)
In their generosity, God would be glorified. (2 Corinthians 9:13) As we also continue to humbly surrender to living in service to others, God is glorified as we put to use the time, energy, and resources He has graciously provided us. Being the recipients of God’s gracious overflowing generosity, may we be overflowing in thanksgiving to God as we use whatever we have to His glory and praise!
Have a great day KEEPING THANKS TO GOD FLOWING!
