Impatience. Sometimes it gives rise to complaining rather than trust as was the case at times with Israel during the wilderness wandering. (i.e. Numbers 21:4-9) Sometimes it causes one to act presumptuously as was the case with King Saul. (1 Samuel 13:8-14) How long we are willing to wait says something about our degree of patience. It also reveals something about where our reliance truly rests!
David wrote. . .
“(4) Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. (5) Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” (Psalm 25:4-5 ESV)
Are we ever impatient with God? In trusting Him as God, are we learning the blessing of being still? (Psalm 46:10) Though we may not always understand His timing, let us learn to trust in His awareness of everything associated with our life and that in His good time He will bring all things together? That is the manner of His ways and part of the path on which He leads us. May we look to Him in a steadfast faith that teaches us to be patient regardless of what we might be going through!
Have a great day AS A CHILD OF GOD STILLED BY TRUSTING FAITH!
