There are physical powers, emotional powers, intellectual powers, etc., that God has created the capacity within us to experience. And the combination of our connection to God and our unity within the Body of Christ all serves to enhance that power in great ways. It’s like the illumination and strength of a fire that has logs stacked closely together. If a log is separated from the others its embers begin to die out. But if it is returned to the fire it again is able to burn brightly.
Paul stated his prayer for the Ephesian brethren in these words:
“(16) that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (17) so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith — that you, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, (19) and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” (Ephesians 3:16-19 ESV)
God empowers us by His Spirit that dwells within us. And the power of His vast love is to be a part of our experience within our fellowship with each other. May we allow God to empower us to love with that love and allow it to be the bond that strengthens our unity in Christ.
