Has it struck you how often Paul prayed for the strengthening of others? It seems we often need to be reminded to look beyond ourselves; beyond our own abilities and beyond our own strength. And to have others praying for God’s power to work in, for, and through us ought to be a great boost to our faith and resolve to daily live for the glory of God.
Note a constant prayer of Paul for the brethren at Thessalonica where we read. . .
“(11) To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, (12) so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 ESV)
Above all we need to keep the Lord’s purposes in mind. It is those purposes that shall prevail. (Proverbs 19:21) However, Paul indicated here that as we develop worthy desires and goals for life, God will even empower us to work through those good purposes. As our faith prompts us to act, serve, and live as servants of God, may we continue to rely on His power to work in glorious ways to His glory and praise!
Have a great day WITH A PURPOSE DRIVEN BY GOD’S POWER!
Carl
