Some tasks and works get completed and we can sit back and appreciate what has been accomplished. However, there are some things which must be acknowledged as ongoing.
It has been said, “People and relationships never stop being a work in progress.” (Nora Roberts)
If we are not working on our relationships, could it be that we are taking them for granted? Whether it be our family relationships, relationships within the family of God, or relationships in any other sphere, what marks our own effort in nurturing their healthfulness?
Writing to Christians at Rome, Paul urged. . .
“(9) Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. (10) Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” (Romans 12:9-10 ESV)
And when addressing the focus toward others when there are differences of opinion, Paul exhorted. . .
“(19) So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” (Romans 14:19 ESV)
Being genuinely loving, honoring others, and acknowledging other’s significance, all work toward the continued building of good relationships. Valuing our relationships, may we remain willing to invest the effort necessary in maintaining and nurturing them!
Have a great day EXPERIENCING THE MUTUAL BENEFIT OF INVESTING IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS!
