The Psalmist stated. . .
“(11) Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. (12) What man is there who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good? (13) Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. (14) Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:11-14 ESV)
The things which contribute to the bringing about of good days are linked to what we have chosen to pursue. Is it the truly good which we are eagerly pursuing? Is it peace we are seeking? Or are we throwing up a wake by our course of life and finding ourselves ending up awash with stormy conflict?
As we do good, we are most like Jesus Himself. The shortest commentary on His life was given by Peter when he stated, “he went about doing good” (Acts 10:38 ESV). Oh, to be like Him! Yes, let it be so!
Have a great day IN PURSUIT OF GOODNESS AND PEACE!
Carl
