The varied life experiences of both bad and good are real. Because of the varied focuses and manner of living of those around us, there is both that which can cause us to feel blessed and that which may be perceived as burdensome. However, there are realities on which we ought to fix our focus which provide a constant for pressing on amidst the changing moments along life’s pathway.
Writing to Christians at Rome, Paul urged. . .
“(12)Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” (Romans 12:12 ESV)
In view of the Sovereign Lord through whom we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3), at any given moment there is reason to rejoice because of the living (1 Peter 1:3) and steadfast (Hebrews 6:19) hope that is ours in Christ. And since we cannot change the trials of the moment, we must learn to be patient as we trust God to bring us through them in His way and in His time in accordance with His Sovereign wisdom. (Matthew 24:13; James 5:7-8) In these realities, we ought to then be drawn to constant prayer (Philippians 4:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:17); remaining mindful of God’s awareness and watchfulness over our life and His power to sustain us through life’s varied moments. Despite life’s varied realities, in Christ is found the constant (Hebrews 13:8) we need for pressing on. Praise God for providing the Light of the Son in which to journey on through each day!
Have a great day PATIENTLY AND PRAYERFUL PRESSING ON IN STEADFAST HOPE!
