Though I might share with others who care about me some of the things with which I might be struggling in life and appreciate the prayers they offer on my behalf, when it is with a spirit of complaining, what does that accomplish? Does it serve to uplift my focus? Does it serve to draw others to want to remain around me? Where does it reveal my focus and trust are resting?
Though Paul acknowledged his life as being poured out as a sacrificial offering (Philippians 2:17), writing as a prisoner in Rome he urged Christians at Philippi. . .
“(14) Do all things without grumbling or disputing, (15) that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, (16) holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.” (Philippians 2:14-16 ESV)
What spirit shows on my sleeve? What does my face reveal in the day-to-day? What kind of heart is revealed in my actions and reactions? Lord, help me to maintain a proper heart of service not caught up in my own feelings but in faith! Rather than whine, help me shine! Keeping the focus upward may I continue to rise and shine!
Have a great day FOCUSED IN FAITH TO SHINE!
Carl
