For something to fail does not necessarily mean failure. It can merely mean one has learned a way the thing does not work. The true failure is in quitting there instead of trying again. When we think about it, how many discoveries or inventions might never have come about if the first failure caused all attempts to cease. Regardless of how many ways may have been found to not work, not giving up ultimately gave rise to success! The same is true in life if we do not give up.
In Proverbs we find an interesting statement where we read. . .
“(15) Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home; (16) for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.” (Proverbs 24:15-16 ESV)
The New Living Translation reads, “The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.”
We fall down, we get up. We fall down again, we get up again. On and on this needs to be a persistent part of our life rather than allowing our blunders or missteps to cause us to give up trying. I have often encouraged others with the words “Success is measured by getting up one more time than you fall down.” When we stumble and fall, let us resolve to not quit, as we duly trust God’s power to sustain both our person and our pathway forward. When we have fallen, may we rise to the occasion to follow on in God’s pathway leading onward and upward!
Have a great day RESOLVING TO RISE FROM FALLING’S OCCASIONS!
