People may do and say things that make us nauseous; things that don’t sit well with us. Wisdom is not always exercised while interacting with others. There are things done and said with little thought to their impact and so what is served may be like thoughtlessly picking random ingredients from around the kitchen, throwing them all together, and expecting something palatable. Are we continuing to give due consideration to our manner of living and speech?
Paul urged Christians at Colossae to. . .
“(5) Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. (6) Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” (Colossians 4:5-6 ESV)
Wisdom is to be exercised as to the ingredients incorporated in our manner of living and speaking? Are we living tastelessly or remaining mindful of living as the salt of the earth? (Matthew 5:13) Is our speech sometimes acidic, sour, or tart, or is it a provision of sweet grace? (Ephesians 4:29) Though many around us may still be in need of developing more of a taste for spiritual things, may our life be wisely lived as an invitation to come to the Lord’s table and to taste that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8; 1 Peter 2:3)
Have a great day LIVING A GODLY SEASONED LIFE!
