In Proverbs we read. . .
“(12) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (Proverbs 14:12 ESV)
And. . .
“(25) There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (Proverbs 16:25 ESV)
Apparently, it bears repeating, and I think rightly so since too many appear to accept what seems good and right though it might not be so to the extent they think. Though in the moment it may seem the way to go, to what or where does it ultimately lead? That is a matter which in some cases could be of eternal consequence.
What are we accepting? What are we buying into? Have we accepted the lies of the one who speaks out of his character as a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44), or the truth from the One Who never lies? (Titus 1:2)
As has been noted:
“Satan promises the best, but pays with the worst;
He promises honor and pays with disgrace;
He promises pleasure and pays with pain;
He promises profit and pays with loss;
He promises life and pays with death.” (Thomas Brooks)

Let us not buy into his lies and the deception of the ways of the world. Rather than what seems, let us seek God’s wisdom in understanding what is! In spite of what others might make to sound good, may we, in faith, always believe God Who always has our ultimate good in mind!
Have a great day WALKING IN THE WISE WAY OF GOD’S WILL!
