“Self-Serve!” It is posted at gas stations. It marks checkout areas at grocery stores. It is what one does at smorgasbord restaurants. It is also the way some live life; living a self-centered, self-serving life, focusing only on what they desire for themselves. However, there is a sense in which thinking of self can enhance our manner of properly serving.
Jesus instructed. . .
“(12) So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12 ESV)
Looking at our own self and duly acknowledging how we wish to be treated will aid in properly directing how we are with others. It is not doing as others have done to us, but as we wish ourselves to be treated. Therefore, our dealings with others are based on how we ourselves desire to be dealt with. May that proper self-acknowledgment serve to lead to treating others in good and godly ways!
Have a great day DULY UNDERSTANDING SELF’S ACKNOWLEDGMENT IN SERVING!
