Sometimes people are told to stand as they are being acknowledged for something, perhaps even receiving a plaque or trophy in recognition of it. When we think about our life, what we stand for and how we stand ought to be given due consideration as to whether or not it is truly worth doing so. When it is, we are encouraged to not give up!
As James wrote to Christians going through trials of various kinds (James 1:2), he encouraged. . .
“(12) Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12 ESV)
The encouragement was to hang in there; remain steadfast under the trials. The result of remaining steadfast under the trials being experienced would be that of receiving “the crown of life”. That crown is not the “diadema” (kingly crown), but the “stephanos” (the victor’s crown). Maintaining steadfast faith in God ultimately leads to crossing the finish line into the eternal victory of eternal life in Heaven. In Christ, the adequate means for this has been provided and it remains the promise of God to those who love Him. Therefore, regardless of what we might be going through, let us remain standing firm as we trust God to sustain us and ultimately deliver us into the eternity our Lord went to prepare for us!
Have a great day PRESSING ON KNOWING A CROWNING MOMENT IS COMING!
