Sometimes when assembling something, I will go back to the instructions again and again to make certain I have not left out a step before going on to the next. There are times I will even look at the instructions several times between two single steps in order to be sure I am not making a mistake. Not being sure of myself, I want to be sure each step is properly followed. Without such a focus, I could not be certain the end-product would be as it was intended.
Even more important is the need for such seriousness regarding the way in which we live our life. Care must be taken against becoming so confident in ourselves that we lay life’s instructions aside and build our own way.
Solomon exhorted. . .
“(5) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (6) In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
In all the ways of our life we are to seek to make certain they are in line with God’s Will. For our life to remain on the straight moral and spiritual path of God we must constantly consult the Wisdom of His Word. When that is neglected, we are relying on our own. May we whole heartedly trust in God’s direction so that our life may continue moving toward being exactly what He desires. By so doing we can be confident our journey will end with Him.
