When we are teenagers, we might not think about our future and our faith, until a trial happens. At a young adult age, I learned that as a Christian not everything is going to go perfectly smooth. You might ask yourself, “Is having a strong faith important?” Yes, it is essential for your continued walk with God. It helps you in this life because we are living in the world and this world is not perfect. At some point in our lives we go through a hardship.
When we go through a trial or tribulation we decide if it will make us or break us. When I was a young adult I went through a lot of hardships, mostly physical illness and even loss of loved ones. When I went through my hardships, I really didn’t understand why this was happening to me and I even examined myself spiritually knowing I wasn’t doing anything wrong. It was just part of life because we live in the world, and it is not perfect. But one thing I did know is that no matter how big or difficult my hardships were, I would never let go of God’s hand. I would serve him no matter what, both through the trials and through the blessings of life.
One thing that motivated me was reading about Job and everything he went through. His faith was strengthened no matter what his wife and “friends” told him. At the end, he was blessed twice of what he had before. When you are going through trials you might not know what to do and sometimes, I didn’t know what to do but we all have a gift from God that will help us know what to do in any circumstance of life his word the bible. Every day I would read the bible. I would listen to bible studies to help me learn more. I would pray to God for strength. I also decided that I would serve him no matter what. Even though I wasn’t feeling that great physically I still attended worship and it made my week so much better. It helped my spiritual life as well.
After all of my trials and tribulations to this point, I learned a lot. I am grateful to God for everything because it has helped me grow spiritually. I also learned that no matter what happens, God will never leave you because he loves us so much and cares about our souls. In fact, God tells us to cast all of our cares on him (1Peter 5:7). I knew that whatever I was going through was ok because at the end of the day it would help me grow closer to God. When I was going through my trials, I decided that it was going to make me and not break me. Yes, I know it might be hard going through trials but if we continue faithful to God, serving him, and following his command our reward is all worth it (Romans 8:18).
I know my life is 100 times better than before now I know that trials might come but to never let go of God’s hands. I know he loves us and will be with us. I have grown so much spiritually. God has blessed me with health and an amazing godly husband.
