Looking back on our life, we understand we began growing in our mother’s womb and have continued growing in various ways from birth. That growth has been intellectually, physically, spiritually, and socially. (i.e. Luke 2:52) And as the years have passed, we have journeyed through many varied experiences, the sum of which and how we have focused while going through them has contributed to who we have become; the character or essence of our being. Even experiences we might wish we had not had to endure or mistakes we wish we had not made are things from which we have learned and developed the focus we hold today. When faith in God and humble surrender to His Sovereign Will being worked in and through our life remains foundational, the sum of our life experiences will serve to strengthen us further and reflect to those around us where our trust rests.
James exhorted. . .
“(2) Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, (3) for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. (4) And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4 ESV)
The joy of the trials can be ours when we focus on the gain that can be derived from going through them. Someone has said, “Something will grow from all you are going through. And it will be you.” (original source unknown) May we keep this in mind as our life journey continues with our trust squarely resting in God to ultimately bring us “safely into his heavenly kingdom” (2 Timothy 4:18) when our journey in this realm is done!
Have a great day FOCUSED ON THE BECOMING FAITH IN GOD PROVIDES!
Carl
