Though it has been said, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”, the good news is this: whether that be true or not, you and I are not dogs. Regardless of age, we can learn as long as we remain teachable; open to learning as we also focus on drawing from the right source for the instruction we need.
In one of David’s psalms, he stated. . .
“(10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” (Psalm 143:10 ESV)
David looked to God as the Teacher of his life. His openness to God’s instruction can be seen here as a prayer; his sincere petition to God. When our sincere prayer remains for God’s instruction, that is a foundational step in being open to the instruction He is willing to provide. Led by His Truth we are being led by His good Spirit on a pathway in which it is safe to walk through life toward the eternity He has planned for us. Remaining open to the teaching of God will provide the means of keeping in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25) as we go about our daily life. May we begin each day praying for God’s instruction, spending time in His Word, and thus being prepared to live under the good guidance of His Divine Wisdom!
Have a great day REMAINING A GOOD STUDENT OF GOD!
