“Thank you, shoppers, but we will be closing in ten minutes. Please bring your purchases to the front of the store.” “Attention Please. Flight 672 is now boarding.” “Sorry for the interruption in service. We are committed to having things back online as quickly as possible to serve you, our customer.”
Relative to time, attention, and commitment, the above is what sometimes marks business in the busyness and variation of life. And though companies generally try to serve their customers as well as possible, it is still business and therefore often not very personal. But what relates to the business of friendship?
Someone has said, “True friendship takes time, attention, and commitment.” (original source unknown)
Despite the busyness of life, the business of a true friend is they will be there. Regardless of busyness, there are friends who reveal the depth of their friendship by simply making the time to give the attention needed because of a commitment personally felt regarding the relationship.
As Solomon stated. . .
“(24) A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24 ESV)
When it comes to the business of being a genuine friend, have we been so blessed and are we focusing on being such a blessing? Rather than being like the world engaged in business as usual, may we take being a true friend personally!
Have a great day AS A BLESSED AND BLESSING FRIEND!
