A loner. A misfit. An outcast. Have we experienced a sense of such? But what an uplift it is when we know we are being included! As God’s children, even here in this realm, God wants us to feel that great sense of belonging now!
Peter encouraged. . .
“(9) But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (10) Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9-10 ESV)
Part of God’s wonderful work is to make somebodies out of nobodies. Now we are God’s people. Here in this life we are His! And to be His now is to provide us with assurance and hope for the future.
