In this life we stand here and there now and again. Sometimes we don’t know where we are to stand and have to be told. Other times we have the choice of where to stand. We stand around. We stand in line. We stand with others. And we are sometimes left to stand alone. Where have we been found standing? Where are we standing now? Inside? Outside? Right side? Wrong side? Upside? Downside? Where will we stand tomorrow?
We need to be decisive today. We need to look at where we are standing now! Someone has said that those who stand for nothing will fall for anything.
God has made it possible for us to stand in a realm to aid us so that even when we stumble, we will have the encouragement to stand back up. But our footing needs to be in the right place. Standing where God would have us, we can rejoice in the gift of hope He provides.
Paul encouraged. . .
“(1) Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (2) Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5:1-2 ESV)
The standing in grace Paul mentioned is in the Greek active indicative. Paul referred to it as the present standing. And grace is the place to be found standing. God’s gift of grace is extended so we can stand in it even now!
