When a child has a scary dream or becomes frightened in the darkness of night by unfamiliar sounds, what do they do? Usually they either cry out for their parents or run to their parents’ room, trusting in their presence to bring safety. Have we learned to trust God in that manner?
In one of David’s psalms he stated. . .
“(3) When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” (Psalm 56:3 ESV)
This is where we need to turn when fear begins to creep in. We are to turn to trust God amidst the unknowns and unsettling things of life in this realm. However, let it not be only in moments of fear, for as David urged in another of his psalms. . .
“(8) Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” (Psalm 62:8 ESV)
We have a loving Heavenly Father fully aware of all our needs and varying experiences of life. Therefore, whatever the time of day or circumstance of the moment, may we retain an abiding trust in God that brings us peace!
Have a great day FINDING PEACE IN OUR FATHER’S ABIDING PRESENCE!
