There are cultural ties to which one may hold that remind them of their roots even when living in a different country than their origin. Perhaps you are one of those people. Following customs, enjoying particular foods, engaging in cultural practices, etc., keep in remembrance the past to which one is connected in a way that honors those roots. With such interest, there are a number of programs available for searching out one’s roots to discover details of family history. However, there is a significant connection to be acknowledged that does not require ordering a kit through ancestry.com or taking a paternity test. We just need to open The Book — God’s Word — and accept the truth revealed there regarding our ancestry.
Writing to Christians at Ephesus, Paul drew attention to our true roots in stating. . .
“(14) For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, (15) from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,” (Ephesians 3:14-15 ESV)
As Paul acknowledged before those whom he spoke in Athens, we are all God’s offspring. (Acts 17:29) And the day will come for this truth to be unquestionably acknowledged. (note Acts 17:29-31) It is to this Divine ancestry that we have been given the hope of an eternal inheritance. (note 1 Peter 1:4) May we therefore live with the acknowledgment now as a part of the blessed family of believers!
Have a great day KNOWING OUR DIVINE HERITAGE AND ETERNAL INHERITANCE!
