There are many tasks — even ones which may not necessarily be pleasant, but necessary — which take on a completely different aura when joined in with others. That togetherness also adds potential to productivity. As has been said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” (Helen Adams Keller) Have we not experienced the difference?
In viewing life lived under the sun (Ecclesiastes 4:7) Solomon stated. . .
“(9)Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9 ESV)
As this is a truism regarding life in general, think of how even more rewarding and uplifting it is when we engage in labors together “under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) with fellow followers of Christ. In His wisdom, Jesus had sent the disciples out in twos. (Mark 6:7) There were also seventy-two others whom He sent out by twos. (Luke 10:1) Then remember when Barnabas and Saul (who became known as Paul) were sent out together (Acts 13:2-3), and for a while Barnabas and Mark joined together while Paul and Silas went on together (Acts Acts 15:39-40) though eventually joined by others. In all of this we see benefit of not working alone, though Paul would humbly attribute the power of success with God. (i.e. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7)
As we consider what we engage in together with a sense of due appreciation for the fellowship in the works, let us also remember we are together “fellow workers with God” (1 Corinthians 3:9) and that He “is able to do far more abundantly that all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us”. (Ephesians 3:20) In that connection there continues the potential for productivity to increase even more! May we therefore be encouraged that our work in the Lord will not be in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) as we allow His purposes to be worked in and through us!
Have a great day BLESSED IN THE TOGETHER-ISM OF LABORS TO GOD’S GLORY!
