How many times have we found ourselves with unrest due to circumstances or situations we are unable to figure out? When we find ourselves with questions but no answers and struggle with a sense of uncertainty about days ahead, how often do we find ourselves becoming anxious? Though Job desired answers and understanding he never got, he ultimately was quiet as he left his trust in God. (i.e. Job 40:3-4; 42:2-6) Are we learning more and more to look to God and His power to lead us through life’s varied moments even when we do not have the answers we might desire?
Someone has said, “Peace isn’t found in answers — it’s found in trusting who holds them.” (original source unknown)
Just as our Lord urged away from being anxious about life because we have a Heavenly Father Who knows what we need (Matthew 6:25-32), in his letter to Christians at Philippi, Paul urged the same in stating. . .
“(6) do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. (7) And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)
Though we pursue knowledge and seek a better understanding of how to live life pleasing to God and beneficial to others, let us understand it is not about having all the answers, but trusting God Who does. Trustingly surrendering our life and future to the loving hands of God is what can bring a peace beyond understanding despite things we don’t understand. May our heart and mind be so guarded!
Have a great day GUARDED BY GOD’S PEACE!
