WAY AND AWAY!
Yesterday we noted Solomon’s contrast between the one who would heed instruction and the one who would reject correction. Note the verse again as it reads in the New Century Version.
We read. . .
“Whoever accepts correction is on the way to life, but whoever ignores correction will lead others away from life.” (Proverbs 10:17 NCV) [© 1991, Word Bibles, Dallas, TX]
The implication here is that of leading either toward life or away from life. Jesus referred to Himself as the Way, the Truth, and The Life. (John 14:6) What is the direction of our life in relation to “The Life”?
Jesus warned. . .
“(30) Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30 ESV)
There is no middle ground implied in Jesus’ statement! That should give us cause for serious consideration of the example our life is setting. We cannot lead where we are not going. Are we going “The Way” worth leading toward?
Remaining open to correction and instruction will aid us in staying on the path to life. May we strive to continually walk in the wisdom of God’s Word so the life we live will be one worth following!
Have a great day LIVING IN A WAY THAT LEADS TO “THE WAY”!
