The English idiom “Well, I declare!” is noted as an expression of surprise or even incredulity in response to hearing the news of or a statement regarding something. It is synonymous to “Well, imagine that.” When something is declared, something is being made known, and when that is something of significance, “well then” should I not declare it as well?
David wrote. . .
“(1) The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. (2) Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1-2 ESV)
All of creation — the work of God’s hands (Genesis 1) — declares the glory of its Maker. (note also what is expressed in Psalm 148) All the balance, design, intricacies, and placement logically and reasonably move my mind away from the acceptance of some cosmic accident bringing about its existence to clearly seeing the power and wisdom of God behind it all. As I look over the planet on which my feet walk with the variation of life all about me, and look above at God’s vast creation, I am truly without excuse to not believe in the One behind it all. (i.e. Romans 1:19-20) As I am drawn to how the heavens and the rest of God’s creation loudly declare His glory, “well then” as a part of His creation I too ought to be declaring His glory as well. May my focus remain centered on my Creator and so duly declare, through the manner in which I live, the glory of my magnificent Maker!
Have a great day DECLARING THE GLORY OF GOD AS INTENDED!
