As we noted yesterday, God’s patience is neither procrastination nor slowness. He has a definite plan that will be fulfilled in His time. His patience is a blessing because of the opportunity it presently provides for lives being turned back toward Him and surrendered to His Will.
Peter also went on to state. . .
“(14) Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. (15) And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,” (2 Peter 3:14-15 ESV)
His patience is salvation! Though there is to be patience on our part in waiting on what will eventually be brought about in God’s good time, let us not procrastinate and miss the salvation His patience provides. We must also guard against being presumptive regarding His patience (note Romans 2:4) as if it were unending. In view of all the wickedness that seems to be ongoing in the world around us, and even honestly acknowledging our own struggle to fully surrender our life to God’s Will, may we humbly acknowledge that without God’s patience there would be no salvation. Praise God for the blessing, opportunity, and salvation His patience is! May we not take it for granted!
Have a great day PRAISING GOD FOR ALL THAT HIS PATIENCE MEANS!
Carl
