There is conflict in the world around us which gives rise to concern because we care. There are cares on the mind of each one of us for those whom we love because we care. We also experience concern regarding the personal cares of our own life, but may at times wonder who cares. So, as we navigate through life’s cares, where do we focus from there? Is our focus brought down or is it lifted up?
One of the psalmists wrote. . .
“(16)Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers? (17) If the Lord had not been my help, my soul would soon have lived in the land of silence. (18) When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. (19) When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.” (Psalm 94:16-19 ESV)
The psalmist’s focus was lifted up to God and the help He had and would continue to provide. In spite of cares being many, he found consolation in trusting God and his soul was cheered.
Remember, God hears and knows (Psalm 94:9) what goes on around us and within us, and He cares! That is why Peter, urged. . .
“(6) Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, (7) casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV)
Like the psalmist, let us keep our focus on the One Who stands with us! May we find needed consolation for our soul in understanding how much God does care and what He continues to bring us toward!
Have a great day HELD UP BY THE CARING LOVE OF THE LORD!
