In my daily prayers are thoughts regarding the world and various happenings therein. Though some may wonder, I know God is fully aware of what is going on. And — as the psalmist David noted — in view of much unrighteousness among humanity, He is “a God who feels indignation every day.” (Psalm 7:11 ESV) There continues to be the need for humanity’s repentance (note Psalm 7:12-16); turning the focus and the life back toward God. Though many delight in defining themselves as progressive in their thinking, why is the world not becoming a better place? When will it be duly acknowledged that human wisdom alone is powerless to bring about needed changes? Therefore, I daily pray for the openness of leaders (i.e. 1 Timothy 2:1-4) to seek and accept God’s guidance in there governing.
The needed acknowledgement of the nations (and us as individuals) remains as David prayed. . .
“(19) Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before you! (20) Put them in fear, O Lord! Let the nations know that they are but men!” (Psalm 9:19-20 ESV)
This was David’s prayer. This is my prayer. God is God and I (we) am not! It remains His Sovereign position to be acknowledged as it remains His guidance that is most needed. (i.e. Jeremiah 10:23) Where there is openness, God is fully able to provide!
Peter encouraged. . .
“(3) His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, (4) by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” (2 Peter 1:3-4 ESV)
It is by His Divine power such blessing becomes ours. Unless we humbly acknowledge our need for His wisdom above our own, the transformation to becoming partakers of His Divine essence cannot take place. Any time we think our choice of direction is better than God’s, we have made ourselves the sovereign one. We are but humans. There is one God and one mediator between us and Him. (1 Timothy 2:5) We will be most wise in allowing His Sovereignty to reign in our life and so guide us and transform us to who He desires us to be!
Have a great day AS A WISE FOLLOWER OF GOD’S SOVEREIGN WILL!
Carl
