When we see ourselves as being in charge, we push our own agenda and seek to do what we want. We seek to please ourselves.
When we are deeply devoted to another, we will consider their desires and seek to do what they want. We seek to please them.
In one of David’s psalms, he wrote. . .
“(10) Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” (Psalm 143:10 ESV)
In addressing the Lord as his God, David acknowledged God as the Sovereign over his life. For us to address God in this way, are we doing so in that light? For God to truly be our God would mean an acknowledgment of His Sovereignty over our life and the superior wisdom of His Will! Therefore, rather than our own will, it is His Will we would continue seeking to know and surrender to being directed by. Are we living in a manner in which our daily life truly reveals our genuine devotion to God and His Will by seeking to honor and glorify Him in all things? As the heavens God created declare His glory (Psalm 19:1), may we as His creation do the same by surrendering to serving the purposes for which we were created!
Have a great day GLORIFYING THE GOD WHO IS OUR GOD!
Carl
