When something is done with intent and aforethought, that means the act was premeditated. For those committing a crime based on such, the penalty is often more severe. However, with the properly centered focus regarding life’s direction and destiny, giving intent and aforethought with regard to the various aspects of our wellbeing ought to be approached with seriousness.
Eating each day with a desire to follow a healthy diet will be a means of consistent nourishment for the body. Exercising each day with a commitment to a regular routine will create a habit impacting the physical wellbeing and function of the body. In the same way — and even more importantly so — someone has said, “Reading God’s Word each day with an intent to obey His direction will be a catalyst for consistent spiritual growth.” [original source unknown]
Because life can be intense, we need to live with intent. Merely allowing life to just happen leads to who knows where until we get there. It is through living life with purpose — especially a godly purpose in line with what God has declared — that aids in sustaining and moving life in the right direction. That is why we need to read God’s Word on a regular basis in a surrendering way; accepting the wisdom of God and obeying His Sovereign Will! This will serve to continue nourishing us and strengthening us for pressing on in life.
Writing to the church at Rome, Paul encouraged. . .
“(4) For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 ESV)
And in his second letter to Timothy, Paul noted. . .
“(16) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (17) that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
In those passages is benefit to be duly noted and accepted as God intended. Therefore, may we remain intent on receiving God’s intended blessing from reading, knowing, and applying the wisdom of His Sovereign Will in our life!
Have a great day LIVING LIFE IN A PREMEDITATED MANNER TO GOD’S GLORY AND PRAISE!
Carl
